Accident at Kadalundi

The Kadalundi rail tragedy has once again focused on the railways and its inadequate safety measures as well as on its lopsided development priorities. As recommendations by successive railway committees and inquiry commissions remain in abeyance, it is time for the implementation of more stringent laws that would ensure that corporate houses and organisations guilty of unsafe practices were brought to book.
