Differentiation and 'Iron Chest' Accounting System Some Aspects of Peasantist Economics S S Sivakumar This article is an attempt to comment on three important lines of economic reasoning pertaining to, what Georgescu-Roegen termed, 'peasantist economies'. Although our evidence relates to only two villages in Tamil Nadu, we feel that further empirical examination too will, by and large, support our conclusion that peasantism in economics does not stand the test of verification.
