Being the first ever engagement of the Government of India (GoI) with mainstream political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), after the August 2019 changes, the all-party meeting (APM) held on 24 June 2021 was quite significant. The very organisation and conduct of the meeting reflected a change in the approach of this government—both towards the political processes and towards the traditional mainstream leaders of Kashmir.
