Curbing Violence against Women


Violence against women—domestic violence, sexual assaults, acid attacks or murders—is a problem crying for a solution. A possible solution is emerging from an unexpected direction.

From the Nirbhaya episode in Delhi to the majority of other such gruesome atrocities against women, there often is a small sentence at the end of the news, that the perpetrator men were under the influence of alcohol. It is well known that drinking increases the risk of violence and crimes against women. Moreover, it harms men as well.
