Learning to Have More Faiths
People can believe and practise more than one religion; enforcing one or the other is the problem.
The new constitution of Nepal made it a secular country, surprising many Indians who were always taught in their school curriculum and general knowledge textbooks that Nepal was the first Hindu nation. Home to Buddhists and Hindu religious traditions, there is a lot to learn from Nepal when it comes to human values and ideas of living together.
At a time when religious life is marred by separation, conflict, and mutual antagonism all over the world, Buddha and many Hindu deities exist in the same pantheon drawing believers from both communities during prayers, pilgrims, and worship.
