UN Yoga Day
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), before commencing its 69th meeting on 11 December 2014, adopted without a vote two resolutions—one commemorating 21 June as the International Day of Yoga and the other aimed at fortifying its role with respect to Ebola.
The UNGA Vice President Álvaro Mendonca e Moura noted that more than 170 countries were co-sponsors. The representative of Sao Tome and Principe also underlined that yoga would not only promote health, but support clarity of vision and action.
