Change at Writers' Buildings?

Your editorial “Hoodlum Years: A Rerun on the Anvil?” (EPW, 26 March 2011) was timely. Numerous examples can be given about the activities of a party which has ruled in the name of Karl Marx but does not hesitate to unleash repression even on the proletariat. The electorate of West Bengal is seeking change for the better and now supports Mamata Banerjee who has always been a crusader against the CPI(M).

It is highly uncertain if there will be a real “change” with the change of guard at Writers’ Buildings but the people want a respite from CPI(M) misrule in West Bengal.
