Kashmiris and Their Protests

People in Kashmir are always very agitated, searching for reasons to come on to the streets and pour out their anger. And, if it is anything to do with the security forces, the people become more a ngry. And the more they are stopped from protesting, the more agitated they become – kani-jang (stone pelting) is the retaliatory measure.

The recent Shopian tragedy where a woman (23) and her sister-in-law (17) were raped and murdered, which people believe was the act of individuals from the nearby CRPF camp, has agitated them to no end.
