Maoist and State Violence in Orissa - II
A fact-finding team of academics, lawyers and student activists from a number of civil liberties organisations visited Orissa on February 21-23, 2008 to investigate into the rising spiral of violence and threats to civil liberties and democratic rights in the state, especially since February 15, 2008 when the Maoist attacks on police stations and armoury in the Nayagarh region took place.

The team met senior officials in the state and spoke to security officials at various places. The members of the team also spoke with people and visited some villages. They visited Gasama village.
