Jammu and Kashmir: Right Time for Congress

As borne out by numerous instances in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, regional rivalries have taken on communal tensions, that have threatened the development of harmonious relations in the state. The Congress taking over the reins of governance in the state has a rich opportunity to address these past mistakes, and take measures to ensure decentralisation of governance and empowerment at the lowest levels.
