Clean Air for All An opportunity to significantly improve air quality all over the country through radical changes to fuel and automobile emission standards from April has suffered a significant setback with deadlines for sale of Euro II diesel formally postponed in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, and western Uttar Pradesh, with the first three in this list suffering the most delay. This means that while only Euro III equivalent petrol and diesel is being sold in 11 specified cities from April 1, only 70 per cent of the country will get even the lower quality Euro II diesel.
