The Fifth Afghan War and International Law

Four principal groups of legal issues thrown up by the current Afghan war are addressed here: (1) the existing legal framework for combating international terrorism, (2) legality of unilateral use of force by the US backed by some other states, (3) the role of the UN Security Council in respect of the US action, and (4) the machinery to bring the terrorists and their collaborators to justice.
