Dwindling International Support for IPRs

Public indignation and dwindling international support for intellectual property rights appear to be forcing powerful MNCs to review their pricing strategy and business models.

Two recent but unrelated court actions, initiated by the leading western pharmaceuticals in one case and the music majors in the other, for protection of patents and copyrights have generated a lot of debate around the globe. Irrespective of the ultimate outcomes of the court actions, the resultant public indignation and dwindling international support appear to be forcing these powerful MNCs to alter their pricing strategy and business models.
