Issues in Agricultural Reforms

This paper examines the role of public investment in agriculture and land market development in the context of economic reforms and globalisation. Agriculture is vital to food security and employment generation and hence to socio-political stability. It is necessary to shift public investment to underdeveloped regions also to see that small and marginal farmers are not driven out of the liberalised land market.
