First, the rehabilitation cost for a given disability, whether social or economic, is likely to be higher for females compared to males in our society. This has a bearing on the preventive and rehabilitation measures that are needed. Analytically too, the reasons why the incidence of a particular disability is higher for a particular sex is important.
