DEEPAK FERTILISERS Rise in Sales Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (Deepak Fertilisers) is back in the list of dividend-paying companies after a gap of seven years. The company, which declared a dividend of 15 per cent for 1997'98, last paid dividend in 1991. The company slipped into the red soon after the government decontrolled phosphatic and potassic fertilisers in August 1991 and had incurred heavy losses since then. With the improvement in production of ammonia and the change in subsidy policy, it turned around in 1995-96 and wiped off its entire carried forward losses.
