Competitive Edge THE country's largest primary aluminium producer, Hindalco, performed well during 1997-98. A significant increase in metal output and higher production from the technologically upgraded rolling mills led to higher volumes of a competitive and diversified product mix of improved quality. The company claims that the commissioning of new capacities for critical inputs such as power and alumina have enabled it to better its cost competitiveness.
