THE anger among Christian and other minority communities all over Pakistan, which has boiled over after the death of a human rights advocate and Christian priest, Bishop John Joseph, has been brewing over many years. The priest took his own life in protest against the passing of a death sentence on a Christian youth under Pakistan's infamous blasphemy law and in a bid to focus attention on the draconian nature of the law and its openness to misuse to harass religious minorities.
