A Meeting Was Arranged..

DATE and time: Tuesday, March 24, 6.00 p m. A meeting was convened within the premises of New Delhi's Constitution House. The meeting was ostensibly for the purpose of paying homage to the memory of E M S Namboodiripad, who had passed away a few days ago. The hall filled early; soon there was no standing room even, young men and women some admirers of advanced age toosquatted in the spacious quadrangle of Vithalbhai Patel House, anxious to be a part of the congregation meant to offer the red salute to the departed leader and to pledge undying loyalty to the cause he had held aloft through the long decades since the 1920s. They had reason to look forward to how the Left leaders would depict their future task in these difficult times in the light of the legacy of the ideology and principles of activism bequeathed by EMS.
