Is Gender Justice Only a Legal Issue? Political Stakes in UCC Debate In the context of the current debate on the Uniform Civil Code, there is a need to rethink the women's question and rework currently accepted notions of gender justice in the light of contemporary political developments. Given the political nature of the UCC debate, a reconceptualisation of our political and legal institutions, is called for in such a way as to make them more responsive to diverse claims for justice.
