(Rs lakh) CASTROL Rise in Sales Castrol began its Indian operations in 1919 as C C Wakefield and Company, changed its name to Castrol in 1960, to Indrol in 1979 and back to Castrol in 1990. Castrol manufactures automotive and industrial lubricants and cable-filled jellies and waxes. The company has an estimated 15 per cent share in the Rs 4,500 crore lubricants market and has built up an extensive distribution network of more than 12,000 trade outlets.
