EPW Research Foundation INDIAN RAYON AND INDUSTRIES Multi-Pronged Expansion AN Aditya Birla group company, Indian Rayon has turned out encouraging results for the year ended March 1995. Turnover increased from Rs 908 crore in 1993-94 to Rs 1,079 crore, an increase of 18.7 per cent, and net profit stood at Rs 132.64 crore compared to Rs 97.86 crore, an increase of over 35.5 per cent. Depreciation and interest cost showed nominal increases of 3.16 per cent and 1.46 per cent, respectively. The directors have recommended a dividend of 57.5 per cent against 55 per cent last year. The company's export performance has been satisfactory. Exports during the year under review stood at Rs 140 crore, compared to Rs 106 crore in the previous year, an increase of 32 per cent.
