EPW Research Foundation INTECON (India) INCORPORATED in 1989 and engaged in the business of manufacturing and marketing dot matrix printers, Intecon (India) is a business partner of NEC Corporation of Japan. Its latest model, the INTECON IX-800 which has been developed with technical inputs provided by NEC is a 9 pin, 80 column dot matrix printer with ETDC certification. It is claimed to be a high quality, low cost and technology-intensive printer and the only one of its kind to be equipped with a factory-fitted serial or parallel interface. The company has already set up an installed base of 2,500 IX-800s and is confident of securing orders from the railways and telecommunications sectors. Further, with an export price of $ 105 these printers have an edge in the international market.
