Destruction of Evidence DESPITE all the claims being made about the recently concluded talks between the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) and the AIBMAC (All India Babri Masjid Action Committee) as a step forward on the way to an amicable settlement of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid tangle, one fails to find any signs of hope. The two sides talked at cross purposes. While the VHP, in its 19 point questionnaire, primarily raised theological questions about the position of mosques in Islam, the AIBMAC stressed on the archaeological evidence that was required to prove the claims and counter-claims of the contending parties. One wonders how a settlement can be reached between two opposing points of view based on totally different wavelengths.
