CPI in the Forties THOUGH G Adhikari was not 'the supremo of the CPP as alleged by M Ray (August 17) but only a politburo member, the former had, in fact, said in his report to the 1943 CC plenum the words quoted by Ray. Since the resolution adopted by the CC plenum after having heard Adhikari's report did not contain anything echoing those particular ideas of his, it should be concluded that the CC disagreed with these ideas.
