Cost Squeeze CHAMMGNE INDIA achieved net sales of Rs 84 lakh during the year ended March 31,1990 representing a 36 per cent increase over the preceding year. The company also earned Rs 27 lakh as against Rs 1 lakh in the preceding year by way of other income such as interest on investments, technology fees, etc However, due to escalation in costs as reflected in an expense to sales ratio of 0.94:1 in operating profits as also net profits declined
