1989-90 was 13 per cent (annualised) higher than Rs 76,61 crore. As the company could reduce the interest expenses by 4 per cent on annualised basis and tax provision was substantially lower, the company reported net profits at Rs 23.07 crore which were 108 per cent (annualised) higher than Rs 13.86 crore during the preceding year.
