Despite the economists it is not a no-choice situation. It is indeed possible to map out alternative feasibilities which will imply hardships for some sections and classes. There can be no avoiding discontent. But the class distribution of the discontent will be qualitatively different from what is likely in case the country is handed over to the disciplinarians of the International Monetary Fund.
