Study of Organised Small-Scale Sector M M Thampy Kerala's low industrial growth rate has often been related to the extent and strength of the labour movement in the state which pushes up wages. That this wage-cost hypothesis cannot be the sole explanation for the industrial stagnation has been established by findings to the contrary in the case of large-scale industries. This study seeks to extend this analysis to the organised small sector.
