Poor Performance of Private Corporate Sector-in Kerala

in Kerala Nirmala Padmanabhan Thir paper analyses the financial performance of a representative sample of private sector companies in manufacturing industry in Kerala over a period of 14 years from 1971-72 to 1984-85. An understanding of the financial behaviour of private sector companies is necessary if the state government is to devise policies and programmes to improve the productive efficiency of manufacturing activity as well as the climate for long-term investment in the state.
