According to the directors' report, improvement in performance was visible among various product groups. The leather chemicals, colours and dispersions and chemicals business showed satisfactory performance whereas the agro- chemicals business registered substantial increase in turnover. The plastics and fibre intermediates business registered a lower turnover as compared to the previous year while maintaining its level of profits. The company exported dyes and pesticides mainly to USSR and West Germany. The total foreign exchange earned during 1989-90 was Rs 6.88 crore. As against this, the foreign exchange outgo for import of raw materials, capital goods, etc, amounted to Rs 9.44 crore.
