Backward Agriculture, Unrewarded Labour and Economic Deprivation-Bihar s Contrast with Punjab

This paper examines the economic characteristics of rural labour households in Punjab and Bihar. Inasmuch as the impact of the green revolution technology on employment and earning capabilities of rural labour households has been shared unevenly by different states of India, the authors capture this by focusing on two sharply differing situations. These are rapid agricultural growth in Punjab and sluggish agricultural performance in Bihar.
