SOUTH INDIA VISCOSE Diversification Programme SOUTH INDIA VISCOSE has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation (GIIC) for setting up a project for the manufacture of acrylamides. The company is now in the process of negotiating technology transfer. Similarly, as part of the diversification programme, an MOU has been signed with IAEC Boilers to subscribe towards ile capital. IAEC Boilers, an engineering company, produces boilers, hot water generators, heat exchangers, waste heat recovery systems and other allied machineries at its plant at Ranipet near Madras. The company has also identified edible oil processing as a potential area for diversification in view of the availability of raw material locally and growing demand for edible oil. Besides, a new company under the name Siv-Magcobar Lignins has been formed to implement the ligno sulfonates project. The company will hold 60 per cent of the equity of the new company while Dresser Industries of the US will have a share of 40 per cent. The project is under execution and production is expected to commence by March 1990.
