rubber, nylon and carbon black- increased the 'produet cost and the company could not fully recover the additional cost impact. However the company maintained strict control over operating expenses and working capital. The company was able to earn a gross profit of Rs 21.70 crore against Rs 17.87 crore in the previous year following increase in sales from Rs 127.80 crore to Rs 135.54 crore. These figures show enhanced profit margins. Net profit is also higher at Rs 7.70 crore compared to Rs 6.08 crore of the previous year. Dividend has been stepped up from 30 per cent to 40 per cent and is covered 2.57 limes by earnings as against 2.71 times previously.
