Sustained Pressure on Consumer Prices

Prices THE rate of inflation as reflected in wholesale price index was 5 per cent in the first 11 months of 1988-89 oh a point-to- point basis, which was about half the rise of 9.8 per cent registered in the corresponding period of 1987-88. However, on an average basis the increase was the same at 7.3 per cent in both periods.
