FCRCs compare with that of Indian controlled companies? Comparative data are given in Table 3. As can be seen, the profit rates of FCRCs have been significantly and consistently above those of Indian controlled companies. Also, there is no trend towards declining profit rates of FCRCs. Other characteristics of FCRCs in comparison with Indian controlled companies are that the former (1) ploughed back a greater proportion of after tax profits, (2) relied to a greater extent on internal sources to finance assets formation, and (3) had significantly lower debt-equity ratios.
