Cloning Private Enterprise What concerned the members of parliament the most when the consultative committee of parliament attached to the textiles ministry met on this Wednesday? Though cloth is a basic necessity of life, the MPs did not show much interest in finding out whether there had been any improvement in the availability of cloth as far as the large majority of the country's population was concerned. Similarly, though a large number of textile mills in different parts of the country have been lying shut for months and years and literally thousands of workers have been out of jobs, their plight and what could be done to ameliorate it too was not on the agenda of the consultative committee meeting.
