The National Committee Of the Campaign has warned that as a result of the policy, "prices of land, building materials, and all other housing resources as well as rental of built-up accommodation in towns and cities will rise rapidly and dangerously". It has demanded that the drafts of the proposed National Housing Policy be widely circulated to enable organisations and individuals to engage in a nationwide debate and suggest alternations that would correct the present ommissions and aberrations and make it a 'national' policy in the real sense of the term. Pending a reformulation of the policy provisions in the light of such a debate, the National Committee has requested the government to refrain from hustling it through parliament in the coming session.
