Production between January and June 1985, however, was 2,650 tonnes against 938 tonnes during the same period in the previous year. Experts are expected to visit India shortly to enable the company to achieve rated capacity. Imported equipments for the polyester fibre expansion project and the waste recovery plant, which had been lying in the docks for more than 12 months, could not be cleared until May 1985, when the initial disbursement of Rs 2 crore out of the approved project loan of Rs 12 crore was released. Progress in the construction work at site and in placing orders for indigenous equipment is also held up pending further disbursement by the institutions.
