WEST BENGAL Engineers' Grievances WEST BENGAL state sector engineers numbering about 2,500 under the leadership of the Federation of Associations of Engineers and Technical Officers (Facto) began a continuous cease-work all over West Bengal from August 6 last on three demands, namely, (1) appointment of engineers and technical officers as heads of the government technical and medical departments and public undertakings; (2) restructuring of the secretariat of government technical departments, undertakings and statutary bodies; and (3) parity in pay and status between engineers and administrative services.
