IT is not often that the pharmaceutical industry admits to failures, especially in matters of meeting production targets. However, at the 20th annual general meeting of the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Pro-ducers of India, the outgoing president, R N Langrana, has lamented the industry's failure to achieve Sixth Plan targets-production of bulk drugs and formulations being only 56.7 per cent and 74.5 per cent, respectively, of the Plan projections.
