Foreign Policy Muted Response

THE reaction of the Government of India to the visit of US Seventh Fleet ships to Karachi port between March 15 and 19 was noticeably perfunctory. The Foreign Minister described the visit as a 'quid pro quo'; in other words, Pakistan was allowing "use of some ofits military bases by the US for the sophisticated armaments it was acquiring from the US".
