It has obviously not occurred to the minister that such a view of American aid may be quite untenable with India's wholehearted and consistent support to the Sandinista government. Surely the minister is not unaware of just what aid of any kind to the contras would mean? For instance, the 'humanitarian' component of aid, to be used apparently for shelter, food and clothes, insofar as it makes possible the continued existence of the American backed and sponsored gangs, is still an attempt to destabilise Nicaragua.
