Soybean Processing: III Conceiyed Expansion THE infant but fast upcoming soybean processing industry is facing rough weather. Nearly all the units which do not enjoy any special locational benefit are currently incurring cash losses and quite a few of them are said to be on the verge of closure. That this should have come about in a year of record crop and record exports of soya meal raises certain pertinent issues which merit serious attention. While the 1984 soybean crop is estimated around nine to 10 lakh tonnes against 4.5 to 5.5 lakh tonnes in the preceding year- nobody can really vouch for the accuracy of these estimates
