January 19, 1985 the milk procurement of Member Unions will not continue to increase at the same pace. According to the Federation, the most important reason for the slow down is simply that the maximum milk collection potential in most areas covered by cooperative milk sheds is being rapidly approached. About five years ago a National Dairy Development Board survey had reportedly found that 75-80 per cent of the marketable surplus of milk, in the villages covered by the co-operative societies, was already being sold to the co-operatives.
