eluding the miners' strike in Britain during the first 11 months of 1984 was 30 per cent higher than the full year of 1983 and wage increases secured by these actions at over six per cent was about one half percentage point higher than in the previous year. To sum up, the edifice of class collabo ration built up by the 'enlightened' British ruling class and their labour lieutenants in the course of more than half a century has been rudely shaken up by the heroic miners. The next round that will decisively topple it may not be far off, if the signs and symptoms arc not entirely misleading.
