November 17 , 1984 THE UNITED STATES Win for Reagan, Not Reaganism (By a Special Correspondent) AS expected, Reagan has emerged the winner in the US Presidential race. In this sense there was little suspense in the contest. The race was inexorably running to a single conclusion, newspaper and television attempts to drum up controversy and fake leads and tags during the course notwithstanding. In the end it was clear that Reagan was a popular candidate, and Mondale was running nowhere. Reagan's low profile stance (partly dictated by advisers worried about his gaffes) was matched only by Mondays zeal in presenting himself as a viable contestant
