SOUTH KOREA'S gross national product (GNP) grew by 9.5 per cent in real terms in 1983. This was a substantially faster pace than in 1982, when GNP expanded by 5.6 per cent. The growth rate in 1983 was the highest in five years, reflecting buoyant export growth and a brisk pace of domestic demand.
