Sugar- False Alarms

April 7, 1984 Sugar False Alarms SUGAR statistics for the current season upto March 15 are available. Production of sugar during this period was over 46 lakh tonnes and offtake almost 39 lakh tonnes. Stocks on March 16 exceeded 53.6 lakh tonnes. These figures make it clear that there is no likelihood of any scarcity of sugar in the short run.
