THS is with reference to A K Sen's Coromondal Lecture on the above subject. Who will not agree that during Famine- the battle over food is most acute' and that in this battle the worst sufferers always are the poor, the ones with little purchasing powers or ex-change entitlement? While in non-famine situations, the poor manage to survive, during famines they die in large numbers.
